HOLDERS Onq and 2015 runners-up Keighley RZM both safely negotiated the first round of the Quaid-e-Azam League's Yasmin & Shaid Cup.

Yet RZM had to recover from 96-7 on the way to 179 against Karmand, Majid Inayat scoring 54 and Daanyaal Ahmed 51 before the opposition were bowled out for 137.

RZM now play either Bradford Moor or Diamond, whose match was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch, while Onq breezed past Azad by eight wickets to book a tie against Bhalot Strikers in the quarter-finals.

Kashmir Dewsbury defeated Heaton Park by 30 runs and will now play Earlmarshall, who were indebted to batsman Imran Khan for their 99-run victory over Friends.

Both Flix and Bhalot Strikers had easy wins, Raja Najeeb taking 5-20 in Strikers' 206-run victory over Patriots.

In the first round of the Chefgenie Cup, Rising Stars were comfortable winners over Al-Minarah, who were bowled out for 130 on the way to a six-wicket defeat.

Stars next meet Indus Ghari after they also had an easy victory against newcomers Yorkshire Lions, who have had a poor start to the season.

Punjab defeated Kashmir Bradford by three wickets in a low-scoring tie but now progress straight to the semi-finals thanks to a bye.

In contrast, the highest-scoring game was between Shaheen and Mylahore, Shaheen making 214-8 and MyLahore winning by three wickets as Zahid Mahmood scored 109.

Whiterose are tipped as likely finalists and did nothing to spoil that prediction when they sailed past Chach by nine wickets.

Chach made 142 but could do nothing about Hassan Javed smacking 111 not out, which included 15 maximums as the target was reached in just 16 overs.

Kings XI notched the only surprise result, narrowly beating Central Leeds to book a tie against Whiterose.
