KILDWICK children held a bun sale in aid of the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund.

Pupils of the village primary school organised the sale earlier this month and dressed in red to show their support during the event.

Richard Hunt, the school’s interim headteacher, said the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund is an award-winning charity based in Leeds.

It supports the Leeds Congenital Hearts Service, which covers serves the whole of Yorkshire, the Humber and North Lincolnshire.

He added: "The fund’s vision is for children to live life, beating heart disease and to make the Leeds Congenital Hearts unit a world class centre of excellence, by providing the funding and resources needed to care for a child’s heart, mind, family and future.

“I would like to personally thank the five children who organised and ran the event, and whose very kind hearts were thinking of others less fortunate."

The children were Katie Jackson, Jack Hodge, Kate Boumphrey, Emma Fanshawe and Maddy Feather.
