A TAG rugby event held in aid of a Silsden man who broke his neck in a junior game enjoyed another "fantastic" turnout.

A total of 12 teams took part in the fifth annual Nathan Cubitt Tag Rugby Festival at Keighley Rugby Union Football Club.

Mr Cubitt, now 20, was 16 when he was seriously injured playing in an under 17s match for Keighley against Bradford & Bingley in 2011.

The money raised on the day will go towards the costs of his ongoing care.

Among the teams competing in the event were two teams from NR Gym, called Machine and Warriors, and Empire Lacks Backs, a squad decked out in Stormtrooper fancy dress.

Mr Cubitt's mother, Sue Cubitt, said the main aim of the day was all about fun.

"We try to make it a family fun day, and the atmosphere was brilliant," she said.

"It was mission accomplished for us.

"It's about spreading the awareness of Nathan's condition too, and we'd like to say a massive thank you to everyone involved."
