RIDDLESDEN is gearing-up for its annual gala.

The event, the 33rd, takes place on Saturday.

The procession – led by the City of Bradford Pipe Band – will set off from the Marquis of Granby car park at 1pm.

It will wind its way to Riddlesden St Mary's Primary School in Grange Road via Granby Drive, Bar Lane and Bradford Road.

Participants will include uniformed groups, Silsden All Stars Majorettes, the Jamba Samba band, walking groups and fancy dress entrants.

Attractions at the school site will include roundabouts, a bouncy castle, slide, archery, crazy golf, grass slides, a coconut shy, birds of prey, bike rides and Punch and Judy.

There will also be stalls, a barbecue and tearoom.

Admission is £1 for adults and 50p for children.

Proceeds will go to the Principle Trust, which provides holidays for disadvantaged children.

Gala chairman, Geoffrey Baldwin, said: "We would urge people to please come along and give their support."
