OTLEY’S in-form attack of Chris Thompson and Ricky Halloran fired them to the top of Aire-Wharfe League Division One, knocking opponents Beckwithshaw off their perch for the first time this season.

Jamie Pickering (75) made the main contribution as Otley were dismissed for 213, with Eugene Burzler taking 5-56. Thompson (5-37) and Halloran (4-49) then got to work and bowled out the visitors for 175.

Will Pallister (4-36) and Ollie Boggie (3-36) had Pool on top, and it needed a fifth-wicket stand of 59 between Ed Brown (28) and Jason Wright (23) to help Burley to 193.

To a side with more batting bonus points than any outside the top four, that should have been manageable but Pool collapsed to 70-7.

Calverley seem to have devised a cunning plan to lull opponents into a false sense of security, most of their batting success coming from the bottom half of the order.

Ben Waller (25), Chris Coates (38no) and Tom Simpson (26) stepped up as the last three pairs put on 91 in their 201-8.

In another twist, opening bat Barrie McCormick took 4-37 as Skipton were dismissed for 110, of which Shahid Nadeem made 50.

McEneaney’s 6-67 spell saw Rover dismissed for 181 and, even though Park lost three cheap wickets, he scored 78 and put on 119 with Tashmail Henry (62) to ensure the win.

Michael Oldfield’s 12-over spell of 6-29 couldn’t stop Tong Park Esholt setting a target of 205 in which Fawad Maqsood scored 72.

Mahir Ali and Muhammad Khan added a useful 44 for the ninth wicket and then swung the game their way with the ball.

Khan took 5-23 and Ali 3-58 as Bolton Villas were bowled out for 136, despite a battling unbeaten half-century from No 9 Luke Pickford.
