NEIGHBOURS battled a blazing pick-up truck in Steeton this morning as firefighters raced to their rescue.

The workmen used a garden hose to contain the fire in the vehicle’s cab in the driveway of a Keighley Road house.

The fire was almost out by the time the Shipley crew – standing in a Keighley Fire Station – reach the house on the outskirts of Steeton.

A Fire Service spokesman said that thanks to the quick thinking of the labourers, who had been working on the house, damage was limited to the cab of the Mitsubishi pick-up truck.

The fire crew was called to the house at 10.23am. No one was hurt in the incident.
