KEIGHLEY'S steam railway teamed up with Bradford City at the weekend to run a special service.

The WD Class 90733 locomotive sported a headboard designed to evoke memories of the days when football fans used excursion trains to reach away games.

City mascot Billy Bantam and members of the Bradford Disability Football Club were invited to travel on the train on Sunday afternoon.

A Keighley & Worth Valley Railway spokesman said: "We became the first heritage railway to have a supporters' club branch associated to it and this special train was to celebrate.

"Several volunteers and staff on the railway are City fans."

The headboard carried the number 149, which refers to the cost in pounds of a City season ticket for next season.
