FIRE crews tackled a blaze in the cellar of a house in Third Avenue, Knowle Park, early this morning. (July 1)
They were called to the scene at 1.30am.
Keighley Fire Station watch commander Andy Quinn said the home's resident had returned home from work to find smoke coming from the grate leading to his cellar.
He immediately alerted the fire service and crews from both Keighley and Bingley reacted.
Watch commander Andy Quinn said: "It was a smouldering fire and only took us about 20 minutes to put out.
"There was a lot of smoke damage, most of which was confined to the cellar area. It looked to have been started accidentally."
