MANORLANDS' Starlight Hike is on course to be another sparkling success.

The event will as last year feature the Starlight Express, one of the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway's steam trains specially re-named for the night, which will take people from Oxenhope to Oakworth for the start of the 10km walk.

Many past participants in the annual fundraiser are planning to take part again, on September 3.

Among them are Corinne Beck and her daughter Louise, who last year – helped by friends – raised more than £1,000.

"I think the most memorable part of the walk was when we came off the Starlight Express and walked up to the top of the hill – we looked back and there was just a trail of fluorescent lights and the happy chatter of people," said Corinne.

"As we walked along the road, most of the cars were pipping their horns and waving in support and it just made the night amazing!"

Headline sponsor of this year's event is Stirk Lambert accountants.

Registration for the hike is now open and there is a cut-price fee of £12, compared to the normal £18, until the end of next month.

Under-16s can enter for £5.

All proceeds will go to the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice.
