A HAWORTH couple are celebrating their diamond wedding anniversary.
Ronnie and Marion Armstrong tied the knot at Christ Church, Oakworth, 60 years ago today (July 21).
Keighley-raised Mr Armstrong spent his early working life at Prince Smith in the town, as an engineer, before becoming a buyer for Airedale Springs and Worthside Beer Pumps.
He played golf for 40 years, only laying down his clubs last month. He was a member at Branshaw.
And he is a keen snooker player.
Mrs Armstrong, who was brought-up at Haworth, worked in the textile trade – initially in a sewing department and later in retail.
She is a member of the crafters club at St James' Church, Cross Roads, and of Haworth Parish Church.
The couple are keen travellers, with a particular passion for Malta and Cyprus, where they head each winter.
They have two sons – Mike, who lives locally, and Phil, from Canada.
