A DUO from Sicily will entertain during an Italian evening at the Cobbles and Clay cafe in Haworth.

Ten Strings, made up of Davide Sciacca and Marianatalia Ruscica, will perform during a buffet supper at the Main Street venue on Friday, July 29.

The duo will showcase a large repertoire of classical works from the early 19th century as well as more contemporary pieces, which they will be performing in the café on the night.

Davide and Marianatalia have taken part in classical music seasons organised by prestigious music organisations in theatres, concert halls, heritage sites and buildings.

A spokesman said: “Their concerts are always warmly received by audiences and critics alike.”

Violinist Marianatalia Ruscica and guitarist Davide Sciacca began their collaboration in 2012.

The repertoire includes 19th Century works by Niccolò Paganini, Mauro Giuliani, Napoleon Coste and Francesco Molino.

The site also includes contemporary pieces by composers such as Astor Piazolla, Maximo Diego Pujol, Celso Machado, Laurent Boutros, Giuseppe Torrisi and Andrea Schiavo.

Marianatalia and Davide won first prize at the international Giuseppe Ierna competition, and also at the national competitions AMA Calabria, the Citta di Palermo, Alfio Pulvirenti and Magna Grecia.

From 2014 they have appeared in the UK, performing in Manchester, Liverpool, West Lancashire, Wales and Wirral, and they have made numerous TV and radio appearances at home and in the UK, especially at Linda McDermott’s late-night show on BBC Radio Merseyside.

Marianatalia and Davide currently teach Violin and Guitar at Conservatoire in Caltanissetta, and also in high schools in Sicily.

The Cobbles and Clay regularly hosts gigs by renowned jazz saxophonist Snake Davis and his collaborators, and recently presented a night of entertainment by South Asian arts organisation Kala Sangam.

Tickets for Italian evening, which begins at 7pm, cost £22 a head. Email info@cobblesandclay.co.uk or call 01535 958961 to book.
