TWO brothers accused of deliberately wounding a taxi driver in an incident on a Keighley street at the weekend have been granted bail.
Abdul Jabar, 27, and 19-year-old Mohammed Abbas, both of Drake Street, Keighley, are charged with wounding Safraz Din with intent, at Sefton Place, Keighley, on Saturday.
They appeared in custody at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates Court yesterday but were granted bail, after submissions by their solicitors, on condition that they live and sleep at separate addresses in Bradford and Birmingham, do not contact the defendant, and do not enter Sefton Place.
It is alleged Mr Din was in collision with a car and attacked by a group of men with baseball bats and pickaxe handles after arriving home from work at 2am.
The magistrates were told that Jabar and Abbas denied the matters and were likely to plead not guilty.
They will next appear at Bradford Crown Court on August 22.
