HAWORTH Road Meths II are the new leaders of Division Two of the Mewies Solicitors Craven League after seeing off Glusburn by eight runs in a high-scoring game at Baildon Bottom.

Meths made 204-6 but the Park Field visitors ran out of overs just short of the winning line, Ian Simons (61no) and Steve Brown (47) helping them to 196-8.

Former leaders Wilsden dropped to third behind Hepworth & Idle after losing by 89 runs at Thornton-in-Craven, who climbed out of the bottom two.

The West Craveners made 161-7 as Chris Mitchell took 5-57 but the Windy Grove side's highest score was only 13, which four batsmen achieved in their reply of 72.

Barrowford piled up 294-7 at Ingrow, who were then castled for 106, with Mark Price making 40, while Oakworth II must have felt comfortable as they posted 243-5 at Bradley.

Jordan Powell, 17, smashed 107 off just 53 balls (seven fours, ten sixes) to go with skipper Drew Duffy’s 49.

However, they reckoned without two old heads who powered the Matthew Lane side to a staggering nine-wicket victory with five overs to spare.

Neil Andrews' 108 not out – the 26th league century of his career – and Chris Capstick (107no) put on an undefeated 217 for the second wicket.

Airedale entertained Ingrow St John’s II and won by one run.

The hosts made 213 on the back of Matt Gill (44) and Mathew Cox (36) as Abid Hussain took 5-25.

Arfan Mahmood (70), Abdul Dyan Qazi (38) and Talib Hussain (36) looked to have got the Saints over the line. However, their last man was run out with 4.3 overs to go.

Division Three leaders Long Lee came a cropper at Shires Lane, losing by 33 runs in a high-scoring game.

Embsay II made 237-8 as Jamie Robinson rolled back the years to finish with 5-39.

The Golden View side found themselves at 135-9 before Jonathan Green (47) and Robinson (30no) put on 67 for the ninth wicket to make the home side nervous. Earlier, Paul Stowell had scored 36 and Mark Day 33.

Cononley went top after they saw off Skipton CI at Sandylands by 73 runs.

Scott Brook (32) and Tom Feather (31) helped the visitors to 165-7 before Herbie Starkey took 5-28 and Joel Grainger 3-5 as CI were back in the hut for 92.

Sandy Lane are third after beating Crossflatts II by 93 runs at Ryshworth Park, Shahbaz Ahmed (66 and 3-8) being their star.

Denholme II were in fine form at Bradford & Bingley III, winning by ten wickets.

Adrian Shires (5-15) helped the Wagon Laners back into the hut for 56 before Cameron Foster made 38 not out as the Bradford Road side romped home in just seven overs.

Jamie Teale (52 and 4-23) and Jimmy Dennison (44 and 3-34) played a big part in Bingley Congs II's 56-run victory over Eldwick & Gilstead at Beckfoot Lane.

For the visitors, James Keighley (55), Mark Roach (35) and Jordan Bayliss (4-44) were the main players.

Akeel Rashid (49) and John Pinkerton (46) helped Riddlesden II to 191-8 at Gargrave, who won by five wickets.
