THE Keighley fire crew was called to the grounds of a disused pub threatened by a nearby blazing car early this morning. (July 29)
Fire fighters extinguished the burning car outside the Braithwaite Tavern at about 4am.
Keighley crew commander David Knox said a concerned neighbour had raised the alarm.
He added: “The car was parked about five metres away from the building so it was a real possibility it could have spread, but we got there in time and were able to stop it.
"When we got there the car was completely ablaze, and we used hose reels and breathing apparatus to deal with the fire.
"The car was a red Nissan Micra, and it has been destroyed. The cause of the fire is being investigated."
