AN offer of redundant computers and a printer has been snapped by a Keighley secondary school.

Teledyne, a technology firm with a base in Shipley, supplied the equipment to Holy Family Catholic School.

Andrea Pritchard, special educational needs co-ordinator at Holy Family, said: “These machines are old, even past it, in terms of business use where they need to be at the cutting edge all the time, but they are still perfectly adequate for a lot of general work in school.”

Angela Stalker, senior human resources manager at Teledyne who delivered the machines to the school with test technician Joe Garner, said: “We are a local technology company of 35 years standing who supply and develop microwave products.

"We recognise the importance of supporting local schools and that it is a key part of a child’s education to have access to computers and other technical resources in school.

"Teledyne would like to support local schools, help young people learn through modern technology and experience new skills in the classroom.

"We hope the refurbished computers and printer will be of benefit to the educational resources of Holy Family, and will enhance the children’s learning environment."
