BRADFORD welterweight prospect Darren Tetley is still unbeaten after a comfortable points win over Sheffield’s Ryan Hardy at the First Direct Arena in Leeds on Saturday night.

Tetley was pushed all the way by Hardy, who just couldn’t get close enough to Tetley to cause him any major problems. Tetley’s superior jab and work-rate was enough to see him win all six rounds on the referee’s scorecard.

The 23-year-old southpaw is now unbeaten after 12 professional fights and he will be hoping to challenge for an area title soon.

Tetley will have one eye on the winner of September’s clash between Liverpool duo Joe Tonks and Adam Ismail – who face off for the Central Area welterweight title.

Another Bradford fighter making waves in the welterweight division is 20-year-old Hamed Ghaz. Big things are expected of Ghaz and it seems only a matter of time before the Bradford pair clash.

It is expected that Matchroom Sport, the promotors of Saturday night’s card, will be returning to the First Direct Arena towards the end of the year and it is hoped that Tetley will feature.
