Keighley's MP has attended a community information and training event at Keighley Civic Centre aimed at highlighting life-saving defibrillator machines.
Five of these publicly-accessible defibrillators have been installed around Keighley.
In the event of a medical emergency, people can dial 999 and be directed to the nearest defibrillator.
Councillor Ian Dermondy, from Keighley Town Council, said: “This is an initiative we've been working on for the past 12 months in association with Dave Jones at Yorkshire Ambulance Trust.
"I'm delighted residents will now have this facility, which significantly increases patients' survival risk from only four per cent to 60 per cent."
The defibrillators have been funded by the Clinical Commissioning Group.
MP Kris Hopkins said: “I was delighted to support the First Aid training.
"Defibrillators are invaluable devices and it's important the public are aware this facility exists, and are confident they would be able to use them should the need arise."
Keighley Mayor, Cllr Shabir Ahmed, said: “The event was an excellent opportunity to show residents they need not have any fears about using the defibrillators.
"People participated in demonstrations and discovered just how easy it is."
