COWLING II are the new leaders of Division 4B of the Mewies Solicitors Craven League after dodging the showers to win at Bronte Fields.
The visitors made 177-8 declared after 42 overs, with Sajid Shafait and Yasser Chatta both making 35 as Nathan Allatt took 5-36 for Bingley Congs III.
Shafait then took 5-44 as the winless hosts closed on 91 in a match with five rain interruptions.
However, Cowling only took over top spot because Skipton CI and Gargrave failed to win, Skipton CI being rolled over for 26 in losing by 87 runs at home to Ingrow II, Dale Hoyle (6-12) and Tony Hodgson (4-3) doing the damage.
Third-placed Gargrave fared little better, making just 49 at home to Bradley as John Drake took 5-2 in 11.2 overs. Rain prevented a reply.
Harrison Houldsworth, 15, made 59 for Wilsden II at home to Cononley II, but they lost a nail-biter by two runs.
