TWO people were taken to hospital after the car they were travelling in crashed into a wall on the outskirts of Steeton.

The smash happened near Hawkcliffe Farm, on Keighley Road, at about 5.30pm yesterday, (August 28) and left the pair trapped in the vehicle.

Firefighters from Silsden and Shipley stations were called to the incident and freed the two people.

A spokesman for Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) said the pair had suffered minor injuries and were taken, by ambulance, to Airedale General Hospital.

She added that YAS sent two ambulances and a rapid response vehicle to the scene.

The road was closed after the crash but was re-opened at about 9pm.
