SILSDEN youngsters who sent 90th-birthday greetings to the Queen from a space-themed event have received an out-of-this-world response.
A thank-you card has arrived from Her Majesty at Buckingham Palace.
But also the Queen's lady-in-waiting, Lady Susan Hussey, sent a personally-written letter from Balmoral.
She praised the children for their "splendid handmade cards" and said the Queen was touched by their messages.
More than 20 youngsters attended the Venture Into Outer Space day at Silsden Town Hall in June.
"The cards they produced were really creative and well expressed and obviously the royal household thought so too," said Mrs Wendy Neville, of the Friends of Silsden Town Hall, which organised the event with Keighley Astronomical Society.
"The royal response is a great tribute to the enthusiasm of the youngsters and we intend creating a permanent display in recognition of this."
The day included workshops where the youngsters could make and launch their own rockets and learn more about the night sky.
