A SEASON of free concerts is being staged at Keighley's Cliffe Castle Museum.

The first, featuring Cellar 3, was held earlier this month and eight more are planned between now and next May.

Michael Scarborough – of the Friends of Cliffe Castle, who are backing the venture – said: "We believe such events will help bring the importance of the museum to the attention not only of those who are already familiar with Cliffe Castle, but to a local and regional public which has not previously visited the museum and been able to value its facilities."

The concerts feature a wide range of music, from cabaret to classical. All start at 2pm.

The planned programme includes: The Saturday Ukes, October 9; Voicemail Harmony, November 6; Windstruments Flute Orchestra, December 4; Haworth Ukulele Group, January 29; Lucienne de Ville, February 26; Steeton Male Voice Choir, March 26; Davide Sciacca guitar solo (Ten Strings), April 23, and Ten Strings guitar and violin duo, May 21.
