ON SEPTEMBER 15, we were guests at the Keighley in Bloom awards presentation.

We hadn’t realised before how much work Keighley in Bloom does.

Finding sponsors, organising fundraising events, making sure the hanging baskets and troughs in Keighley look beautiful and are well displayed, as well as organising the Keighley in Bloom competition. All without the help of the council!

Anyone can volunteer to help Keighley in Bloom with the work it does to make Keighley look more attractive, not just for the tourists but for everyone who lives and works in Keighley.

l A VERY nice lady called Chris provided a delicious supper for everyone who attended the presentation and we got a close look at Councillor Ali’s chain of office.

The chain looks very heavy and impressive. It’s sad that it isn’t on public display any more so that more people can see it.
