A NOSTALGIC journey back to the 1950s is being offered in Keighley to tie in with UK Older People’s Day.

There will be a 1950s Day at Central Hall, Alice Street, on Thursday October 6, hosted by Keighley Elderly Initiatives Group and Creative Support.

The event, which runs from 11am to 2.30pm, will feature entertainment, a quiz, raffle and a hot and cold lunch. Tickets cost £5 and must be booked by the day, September 29, by calling 01535 612500 or emailing julie@kivca.org.uk.

The event is one of several across Bradford district being held during the fortnight surrounding national and international older people’s days on October 1, to champion the achievements and contributions that older people make to society and the economy.

The UK Day supports a campaign by Age Action Alliance to challenge negative attitudes and outdated stereotypes of older people.
