A FIRE at a former school in Keighley is thought to have been started deliberately.
Fire crews from Bingley and Silsden were called out to the derelict Branshaw School site, in Nashville Street, at around 4pm today.
When they arrived they found that one of the classroom buildings was on fire. Despite their efforts, the building suffered extensive damage.
Fire crews believe the fire was started deliberately.
The special school closed in April 2010, when pupils were transferred to Phoenix School in Braithwaite. Since the closure, residents and ward councillors have raised concerns about anti-social behaviour and fly-tipping on the site.
There was a fire on the school grounds in August 2015.
