A TEAM of Police Community Support officers in Keighley have been continuing to campaign against antisocial parking outside local primary schools.

A trio of PCSOS were on duty outside Holycroft Primary School, in Knowle Park, last Monday (Oct 17) to tackle inconsiderate and potentially dangerous parking.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said: "Two vehicles were issued with a £30 fixed penalty notice for obstruction of school zig-zag lines and obstruction of a junction.

"Numerous drivers were also spoken to in relation to inconsiderate parking.

"This is part of an ongoing operation so we will be visiting other schools in due course."

Officers previously targeted obstructive parking outside Keighley's Nessfield Primary School at the end of September.

The crackdown on problem parking outside primary schools in Keighley was launched last month following complaints from residents, parents and schools across the district.

For the first week, motorists were educated on the dangers of bad parking and why it is safer to park away from school grounds.

Enforcement began during the second week of the initiative, with fines issued against drivers who failed to heed the police warnings.
