A BREAKFAST club for serving members of the armed forces and former military personnel is being launched in Keighley.

It has been set up by Keighley Armed Forces Association (KAFA) and the first gathering will take place at The Livery Rooms, in North Street, from 10am to midday on Saturday November 12.

A spokesman for KAFA explained: "This is an event for serving members and veterans of our armed forces to come together and relive the laughs and banter that we all once shared.

"It is also an opportunity to get support and advice if needed from people that can relate to situations they may be facing.

"So we invite veterans and service personnel to get themselves there and to be part of the area's first Veterans' Breakfast Club."

Following the launch the club will continue to meet at the same venue from 10am til noon on the second Saturday of each month.

KAFA is composed of local civilians and former armed forces personnel.

The group was set up to develop community involvement with its annual Armed Forces Day event by highlighting the contributions made to the British Armed Forces by all communities in Keighley.

The next Keighley Armed Forces Day will be held at Marley on Fathers' Day 2017 – Sunday June 18.
