A KEIGHLEY health club is inviting people to join its Christmas Spinathon and Battle of the Boogie Bounce to raise money for homelessness charity Crisis.

Hi-Energy Health Club is hosting the Spinathon at its studio in Russell Street on Monday and Thursday, December 12 and 15 from 5pm to 8.30pm.

A spokesman said: “In total that is seven back-to-back classes! Are you ready for the challenge?

“It is Christmas so we would like everyone to come in fancy dress and the best dressed will win a prize at the end of each spinathon!”

The cost of entering is £2.50 per class, or £10 for all seven sessions, and they should be booked in advance because there are limited places.

The Battle of the Boogie Bounce will run on Tuesday and Wednesday with two 90 minute sessions each night, starting at 5pm and 7pm. The cost of entering is £4.

The spokesman added: “We would like people to bounce their way to the top in fancy dress. The group will be split into two and the best team to deliver the best performance and fancy dress will a prize.

“As a club our target for the whole community is to raise over £1,000. The club wants to deliver a fun and competitive class for everyone to join in and get into the festive spirit but let’s think about the charity we are raising awareness for.”

Hi-Energy will have a stall of cakes, drinks and Christmas goodies during the events, with a raffle to win an amazing Christmas hamper, including a new Fit BIT activity tracker.

The club is also collecting shoe boxes filled with practical items to give to Crisis.

Crisis helps homeless people at Christmas, those who people wake up on Christmas morning feeling helpless, cold and lonely, with no family or friends to turn to.

The charity said that £10 could help one person take their first step out of homelessness, £25 could give counselling and support, and £250 gives someone one to one support to help find a safe place that they can call home.

The Crisis at Christmas appeal is also asking the donations of £22.32 to cover on Christmas day sport, including a chance to shower, get clean clothes; eat three nutritious hot meals including Christmas dinner; and have a health check by a doctor, optician and dentists.
