A KEIGHLEY man has created a children's fun book to raise money for the hospice which cared for his late wife.

Alan Parry said that thanks to Manorlands, he and wife Ellie had a "precious" extra year together.

"The book is dedicated to all the wonderful staff who work at Sue Ryder Manorlands hospice – from the doctors and nurses to the housekeepers, kitchen staff and volunteers," he said.

"When Ellie passed away, I promised myself that I would do something to say thank-you for all the help and support we received as a family at such a challenging and difficult time.

"This book is my way to give something back."

The 130-page book is packed with activities, ranging from dot-to-dot and colouring to puzzles.

It retails at £4, with all proceeds going to Manorlands.

The book is available from Sue Ryder shops, Small Office Supplies in Keighley and from the hospice.

Copies can also be obtained by calling 01535 640430.

Andrew Wood, a senior fundraiser at Manorlands, said: "I would like to say a big thank-you to Alan for producing the book and supporting the hospice.

"It is being launched in time for Christmas and could be an excellent gift for three-to-12-year-olds.

"We'd also like to thank the businesses that have supported the project through sponsorship, all of which are listed within the book."
