A CHARITY has launched an appeal to provide meals for needy animals this Christmas.

Customers at Pets At Home – which has a store at Keighley Retail Park, in Hard Ings Road – are being asked to support the Santa Paws fundraising campaign.

The initiative, staged by Support Adoption For Pets, runs until Christmas Eve.

People can donate 50p at till points, text BOWL01 to 70070 or visit supportadoptionforpets.co.uk/santapaws.

As part of the appeal, the charity has issued photos of rescue pets as they've received welcome meals.

Amy Wilson, for Support Adoption For Pets, said: "We hope the pictures make people smile – they perfectly capture the joy that a simple bowl of food can bring to an animal spending Christmas in a rescue.

"Throughout the festive period we tend to spoil those around us and our pets are no exception to this.

"We want to encourage people to give a little extra this Christmas and help us towards our ambitious goal to provide 1,500,000 meals to animals in need."
