MARINE biologist Dr Cath Waller spoke to Keighley Rotary Club about her work in Antarctica.
She recounted stories of her time on Earth's southernmost continent and the reality of the shrinking ice field, with unknown consequences for flora and fauna.
Forty Rotarians and guests attended the event, at Keighley Rugby Union Football Club, Utley.
During the evening, club president Marie Hickman enrolled a new member.
Latest recruit Chris Issott has already been involved with some Rotary activities, including the talking newspaper and Singing Teapot – a monthly event for people with dementia.
Earlier this year, the Singing Teapot received a £200 grant from the Craven Trust.
The funding was to help train singing leaders, to work not just with the group but with others in the area.
