A FASHIONABLE outing saw Parkside School design, textiles and creative arts students attend the Clothes Show.

More than 40 GCSE and A-level students travelled to Birmingham for the exhibition’s last appearance at the National Exhibition Centre after 27 years.

The Alcatel Fashion Theatre presented Rock the Runway showcasing present and future trends.

Students of the Cullingworth school hailed it a “vibrant and mesmerising” catwalk show featuring over 40 international models and dancers.

Boutique collections, graduate catwalk shows, celebrity guests and exclusive interviews were on offer throughout the day, allowing students to meet models and up-and-coming designers.

Parkside students visited the many University and College forums to learn about textiles and design courses. Creative career seminars were also available.

Jane Love, Parkside’s lead teacher for technology, said: “The day provided an opportunity for students to be inspired and to learn about what it takes to make it in this fast-paced, ever-changing industry.

“In July 2017 the Clothes Show will present the ‘British Style Collective’ in Liverpool. Parkside School will be there! "
