TWO Harden projects have received lottery cash.

The village primary school has been awarded £8,370 for extracurricular and holiday activities, designed to improve health and wellbeing.

And the parish council has been granted £1,669 to buy and install a publicly-accessible defibrillator for use by the community.

"This will provide residents with access to lifesaving equipment and increase chances of survival in an emergency situation," said a spokesman.

In total, 91 projects across Yorkshire and the Humber are sharing £3.2 million in the latest round of awards from the Big Lottery Fund.

"It's great to see so many projects in the region bringing a positive change to their communities," said James Harcourt, the fund's deputy director of responsive programmes.

"Thanks to National Lottery players, this latest funding will support people to overcome barriers, learn new skills and improve their lives for the future.

"A diverse range of projects is being supported."
