SENIOR pupils at a Keighley secondary school have used their enterprising ideas in aid of a good cause.
The 11 year 13 students at University Academy Keighley (UAK) are currently working towards their Level 3 BTEC business studies qualification.
Part of this involves them learning how to manage a business fixture.
A spokesman for UAK explained: "This unit requires them to hold an enterprise event where they offer a product or service.
"Students took responsibility for the planning, implementing and running of their chosen event, which ranged from Asian and Italian food stalls, sports tournaments, PSP gaming time and a raffle.
"As a group they made a profit of £130, which will be donated to the Intouch Foundation charity."
Intouch foundation runs a weekly mobile food kitchen in Church Green, Keighley, for deprived people. It also operates the same facility in Bradford and Leeds.
The UAK spokesman added: "Our students not only worked towards their qualification but also learned a lot of valuable skills in event planning, promotion, working with outside agencies such as suppliers, time management and organisation. They gained some sales experience too."
