THE anticipated influx of train enthusiasts likely to be drawn to the Worth Valley when the Flying Scotsman locomotive arrives was discussed by parish councillors in Cross Roads.
Members of Haworth, Cross Roads and Stanbury Parish Council were updated on what impact the locomotive's visit to the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway would have from the start of April.

Councillor David Senior told fellow councillors: "They are going to be running trips on the Flying Scotsman for seven days, with about 350 passengers on each train. With four trips a day that's 10,000 passengers through the week.
"The Keighley & Worth Valley Railway has come to us to ask about help with any additional parking facilities, and I've talked to local businesses which might be prepared for their premises to be used as car parks.
"I think we should also be alerting local landowners – particularly those who are trackside – to the fact that people may be coming onto their property to take photos.
"This is going to be a huge event, and I think the whole parish should embrace it."
Cllr Peter Clarke said: "I think this will be a fantastic occasion for the local area and is something we should fully support.
"We should use social media and our website to promote the event."
