A MAJOR backer of Manorlands cycling events has pledged its continued commitment to the hospice.

All Terrain Cycles last year sponsored all three bike challenges staged by the Oxenhope Sue Ryder centre.

As part of its involvement, the firm ran a prize draw into which everyone raising over £50 was entered.

And that will be repeated this year.

Winner of last year's draw, Roy Buffey, has been presented with a voucher for £100 worth of cycling equipment.

His late wife, Dorothy, was cared for at the hospice in 2014.

Last year's cycling challenges together raised £23,000.

Tony Booth, managing director of All Terrain Cycles, said: "We enjoy being associated with Manorlands and its cycling events are enjoyed by many, including our customers from near and far.

"We are delighted that the incentive of the prize draw appears to have increased donations in 2016 and we plan to do it again as we continue our support for this great local cause."

Manorlands fundraiser Andrew Wood, the hospice's cycling events lead, said: "We thank Tony and the team at All Terrain Cycles for their ongoing support.

"It was very fitting that Mr Buffey was the draw winner, as he knows well – after we cared for his wife – the value that Sue Ryder provides to families."
