THREE masked men – one armed with a knife – burst into a house at Riddlesden and demanded jewellery and cash from the terrified occupants.

The balaclava-clad raiders searched the property before running off.

It is believed they took a quantity of jewellery.

The three occupants of the house, in Newlyn Road, were badly shaken but not seriously hurt.

Police are appealing for information following the incident, which happened at about 7.30pm yesterday.

It is understood the raiders ran off towards Hospital Road.

All three are believed to be white and spoke with Yorkshire accents.

They were wearing Adidas tracksuits.

Detective Inspector Alan Weekes, of Bradford District CID, said: "The suspects made off on foot but we believe they may have run to a waiting vehicle.

"A silver Audi car was seen driving away at speed towards Granby Lane at around that time and we would like to hear from anyone who may have seen this vehicle in the area at around the time stated.

"We would also be keen to hear from anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the Newlyn Road area at around the time this occurred."
