HISTORIC East Riddlesden Hall reopens next month.

The 17th-century National Trust property will welcome visitors again after a winter of repairs and deep cleaning.

It will reopen on February 18, for the school half-term holidays.

And families are being invited to help plant willow shoots.

Drop-in planting sessions take place on the lower field between 10.30am and 12.30pm on February 20 and 21.

Later in the year, the willow will be weaved to create a tunnel.

Jill Saunders, head gardener at the hall, said: "The willow tunnel will be a great addition.

"It will provide a perfect leafy den and shady play area for children to enjoy and make a fantastic place for a family picnic."

Other half-term activities will include a new property trail and arts and crafts.

The hall will be open Saturdays to Wednesdays between February 18 and 26.

Normal admission charges will apply.
