SONGS from a host of classic musicals can be heard in Sutton in early April.

Sutton’s Green Hut Theatre Company is staging a special concert as an alternative to its usual spring musical.

What makes the show different to the usual ‘songs from the shows’ is that each song is accompanied by script to set the scene.

Residents of Sutton and surrounding villagers are being urged to go along and join the cast as they begin rehearsals this month.

The group, originally Sutton Amateurs, has been performing in the village for 89 years and would welcome new members to join the experienced cast.

There’s a chance to sing well-known songs from musicals like My Fair Lady, Anything Goes, Hello Dolly, Annie Get Your Gun, Calamity Jane and Oklahoma!.

Members of the Green Hut Youth Theatre will perform songs from Matilda and Annie, while the adults will perform a clutch of modern songs like Kids in America, We Are The World, Footloose and Boogie Wonderland.

Anyone interested in joining in the Monday and Wednesday evening rehearsals should email contact@suttongreenhuttheatre.co.uk or call 07897 247733.
