A SILSDEN community interest company has signed the lease on new premises.

Been Busy closed its shop at Kirkgate in the town last September.

The premises provided an outlet from which crafters could sell their goods.

Sewing and quilting workshops run by the company have since continued at Silsden Town Hall.

But now buoyant Been Busy bosses are heralding a major development.

“We have just signed the lease on new premises, which is exciting news,” said Angela Malcolm, who founded the venture with husband, Neil, more than two years ago.

“We’ve kept the company ticking over since we closed the shop and have maintained the workshops – and those will continue to develop.

“The new aspect will be to set-up a co-operative to reopen the sales side of things, and we are currently looking to recruit members who wish to be involved.”

Anyone interested is invited to attend a meeting at The Counting House in Kirkgate at 1.30pm today.

More details about the plans will be given and people will have the chance to share their views about how the project could develop.

Anybody wishing to get involved, but who is unable to attend, should visit beenbusysilsden.com or e-mail shop@beenbusysilsden.com.
