A TOUR de Yorkshire roadshow is being held in Keighley.

The event – at Victoria Hall on Monday, March 6, from 2pm to 4pm – will provide more information about the race.

Advice will be offered to businesses about how they can maximise the benefits of global media interest in the Tour – which passes through this area on April 30 – and cater for the many visitors expected to converge on the district.

Details of road closures, an annual sportive and Welcome to Yorkshire's various cycling legacy projects will be discussed.

And people can learn more about how to become an official Tour Maker.

The race route includes South Craven, Silsden, Riddlesden, Keighley, Cross Roads, Haworth and Oxenhope.

Roadshows are also planned in other parts of the district including Bradford, Saltaire and Ilkley.

They are being staged by Welcome to Yorkshire, in conjunction with Bradford Council.

Councillor Sarah Ferriby, the council's executive member for sport and leisure, said: "These roadshows are an ideal opportunity for residents and businesses along the route to find out all about the event and how they can get involved and make the most of this opportunity."

Welcome to Yorkshire chief executive, Sir Gary Verity, said: "The Tour de Yorkshire is now recognised as one of the best-supported races in the world and that's down to the great people of this county taking it to their hearts.

"We run these roadshows to share information about how the race works and to encourage people to show off their community to a global TV audience of over 11 million people.

"I'd encourage everyone who lives or works on the route to come along, ask questions and get inspired on how we can all make the 2017 Tour de Yorkshire the biggest and best one yet."

Anyone wishing to attend is asked to register their interest.
