BRANWELL Brontë And His Halifax Friends is the title of a presentation in the town on March 15.
The talk will highlight the fact that long before the sisters published their world famous novels, Branwell had poems published in Halifax.
A spokesman pointed out that Branwell spent much of his time in Calderdale.
He said: “By no means as successful his sisters in the literary field, he showed great talent; but what went wrong?
“David Glover looks at a capable but flawed young man and invites you to discover his local acquaintances.
“This is a fascinating insight into the brother of the Brontë sisters.”
The presentation is at the Square Chapel Centre for the Arts at 2pm. Visit squarechapel.co.uk or call 01422 349422 for further information and to book tickets
