A TEAM is tackling the gruelling Yorkshire Three Peaks in memory of a baby who was born asleep.

Seventeen colleagues from Keighley firm Simply Better Events are taking part in the charity challenge.

They are raising money in tribute to Thomas Arthur Hall, who was born asleep in November last year.

His aunt is Katie Ramsden, account manager at Simply Better Events.

Proceeds from the 24-mile-plus walk – which takes in Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough – will be split between stillbirth and neonatal death charity Sands and Chellow Hearts, which supports Chellow Heights Special School in Bradford.

Rob Woodhead, managing director at Simply Better Events, said: "We wanted to offer our support to Katie's family.

"Having completed a demanding charity challenge last year, we decided on another – this time to fundraise for two charities chosen by Katie's sister Janie and brother-in-law Matthew Hall.

"Sponsorship of any amount will be gratefully received."

Both charities thanked the company for choosing to support them.

Katie Hansard, a family support worker and fundraiser with Chellow Hearts, said: "We can't thank the team at Simply Better Events enough and we want to wish everyone involved in the challenge the best of luck!"

The employees will each take on all or part of the Yorkshire Three Peaks route, which includes 5,200ft of ascent, on May 5.
