FIELD travelled to Wetherby Athletic, who are currently bottom of the West Yorkshire League Premier Division, and came away with a 4-1 victory.

However, although Field found themselves a goal down after only 21 seconds, they were generally on top of their game.

John Penn converted a penalty to put Field level and they had a few chances before Aidan Day put them ahead.

The second half began with Wetherby being foiled by a last-ditch tackle from Darryl Leach before Andrew Benjamin and Ryan Canning sealed the outcome.

Field are now fourth, 16 points behind leaders Carlton Athletic, but they have a game in hand.

Wyke Wanderers travelled to runaway Division One front-runners Hall Green United and performed well, despite losing 4-1.

Hall Green deservedly went ahead after only seven minutes and it was 2-0 via a penalty five minutes later.

Matt Conway shot wide when he had a chance to pull a goal back before United went further ahead after a poor clearance and added to Wyke's misery in the 44th minute when they made it 4-0.

Wanderers changed formation at the start of the second half, bringing on the tricky Sibu Moyo, and were transformed, taking the game to the hosts.

Conway and Karl Fawcett were in their element as they ran the United defence ragged and had several chances to score but good goalkeeping kept them out.

However, Wyke's pressure finally paid off on the hour when Joseph Walshe played the ball back to Carter Russon, who crossed for Conway to glance his header into the corner of the net.

Conway had another chance as the visitors dominated, with Russon also firing his shot wide of the goal and Moyo threatened every time he got the ball.

In a game where Cameron Day and Brad Emerson both received yellow cards, Wyke's secretary Dave Ryan said: "We gave a great second-half performance against a good Hall Green United who have yet to lose a league game this season."

Baildon Trinity Athletic lost 3-0 against Kellingley Welfare in Division Two, leaving them fourth from bottom with only five matches to play.

The Alliance Division One game between Wyke Wanderers Reserves and Boroughbridge Reserves and the League Trophy tie between Field Reserves and Oxenhope Recreation Reserves were postponed due to unfit pitches.
