KEIGHLEY Town moved second in the Wharfedale Triangle League Premier Division after an emphatic win and a favour from their neighbours.

They enjoyed a 4-0 success at home to Salts thanks to goals from Bradley Cole (2), Michael Donohoe and Leon Smith.

Keighley Athletic produced their performance of the season to beat title contenders Yeadon Veterans 2-1 at home, Liam McNicol getting both goals for the hosts.

That enabled Town to leapfrog Yeadon into second spot but they still trail leaders Sky Bet by five points.

Meanwhile, Crossflatts Village edged to a 1-0 win at home to Cullingworth Youth in an exciting encounter which deserved more goals.

Youth had the better of the first 30 minutes but failed to take opportunities. Crossflatts began to take control of play before half-time and scored the only goal of the match through Adam Rooney following a goalmouth melee in which Youth had several attempts to clear.

Rooney had only passed a late fitness test after hobbling off with a knee injury in Village's previous game.

The second period saw end to end play, with both keepers kept busy.

Youth felt they deserved a draw but their cause was not helped when their in-form striker Chris Mawson had to come off with injury early in the second half.

Cullingworth's man of the match was captain Harry Holmes, though their whole team impressed.

With only two league games left, Youth's next scheduled fixture is not until March 5.
