THE Keighley branch of Marks & Spencer will promote ethically sourced goods at a pop-up stall in the Airedale Shopping Centre next month.

It will form part of this year's Fairtrade Fortnight, which begins on February 27 and runs until March 12.

M&S is inviting shoppers to visit the stall on Friday March 3 and learn about a range of Fairtrade products – from infusion tea pyramids and innovative coffee capsules, to bagged bananas and chocolate from worldwide suppliers.

The "Put Fairtrade in your break" activities – which will also take place in Bradford and Leeds – are being staged by working with local Fairtrade groups.

An M&S spokesman said: "The initiative will showcase the benefits of going Fairtrade, including how it ensures decent working conditions, local economic sustainability and best practice for farmers working in the developing world.

“When customers buy Fairtrade products they can be sure the producers behind them are getting a fair deal.

"We hope that everyone in Yorkshire comes and takes a break at our pop-up stall to learn more about the benefits of Fairtrade and to sample our produce.”
