KEIGHLEY brewery Timothy Taylor has announced it has bought the successful Harrogate Brasserie to expand its presence in the North Yorkshire town.

Taylor’s bought the restaurant/hotel business from Richard Finney, who with his experienced team has run it from its Cheltenham Parade address for the past 27 years.

Timothy Taylor’s hopes the addition of its beers and an enhanced drinks offer will be the perfect accompaniment to the high-quality food and entertainment, for which the venue is already renowned.

The company believes the Brasserie will become even more attractive for both locals and leisure and business customers attracted by its individual character rooms.

Tim Dewey, chief executive of Timothy Taylor’s, said: “We were looking for a high-profile venue in Harrogate that would give us a presence in the town and that would complement the loyal and long-standing traditional pub stockists we have in Harrogate.

“We feel the Harrogate Brasserie offers us a quality solution to this challenge.”

Richard Finney said Timothy Taylor’s was a family business like his own that shared similar values.

He added: “I wish them all the best for the future and am delighted that guests and visitors will be able to sample their fine range of quality ales. I am sure I will be popping in for a pint or two!’’
