WILSDEN Village Hall and Wilsden Scout Group have been awarded grants from a charity in the village.

The village hall received £2,000 to buy 100 new chairs for the main hall because the current chairs are damaged and worn.

The Scout group received £1,826 to update equipment for days out, overnight camps, and trips and weekly meetings.

The grants from the Royd House Trust were approved Thursday (March 9) by Bradford Council’s Regulatory and Appeals, which oversees the charity.

The trust was set up in 1997 following the sale of Royd House, Barn and Garages. Proceeds of the sale were invested, and each year the income from the capital is distributed for the benefit of Wilsden residents.

The tustees invite bids from Wilsden community organisations for financial support for projects that will strengthen the community and enhance the well-being of residents and their environment.
