KEIGHLEY'S town mayor offered his sympathy to a woman who was stabbed and beaten while helping out at her husband's convenience store in Highfield.
Speaking during the latest full meeting of Keighley Town Council, Cllr Shabir Ahmed, who also represents Highfield ward, said the robbery at Friends Food Store, in Devonshire Street on March 7 had been a "shocking" crime.
"I hope the shopkeeper makes a speedy recovery from this traumatic incident," he added.
Kausar Ashraf, 46, was assaulted by a man while working behind the counter at about 8.10pm on March 7.
