AN initiative designed to help people talk informally about death and dying is coming to Keighley this spring.
A "Death Cafe" will be hosted by Keighley Healthy Living, at 13 Scott Street, from 10am to noon on May 10.
This will be a new venture for the Bradford Bereavement Support group, which has explained: "Death cafes have been around since 2011 but only really started to spread into the UK since last year.
"These pop up cafes are all voluntary led and we hope to do them annually. The café in Keighley will be running during Death Matters Week."
A spokesman for Death Cafes added: "Our objective is to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their finite lives.
"A Death Cafe is a group directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives or themes. It is a discussion group rather than a grief support or counselling session.
"Our Death Cafes are always offered on a not for profit basis, in an accessible, respectful and confidential space with no intention of leading people to any conclusion, product or course of action."
