A SOCIAL group for Braithwaite residents residents fed up of anti-social behaviour is going from strength to strength.

The over-50s attend the Pick ‘N’ Mix club every Wednesday from 12.30pm to 2pm at Merlin Top Primary School in Braithwaite Avenue.

Members take part in bingo, handicrafts, traditional games, funky dancing, trips out, or simply socialising over a cuppa.

Members have also been given information about health and well-being, and have taken up walking, Tai Chi, and first aid, safeguarding and diversity training.

The club was set up by community department worker Pip Gibson after she talked to Braithwaite residents had complained about anti-social behaviour.

She said: “It was thought local folk might enjoy a weekly get-together filled with exciting and interesting things to do right on their own doorstep.”

Pick ‘n’ Mix, which is supported by Keighley Healthy Living, Bradford Council and Braithwaite Senior Voice, became the first community group to meet at Merlin Top.
